physiotherapist

Hi! My name is Sungha Kim. I’m a Registered Physiotherapist at Gilmore Physiotherapy and Pilates with over 8 years of professional experience. I earned my Masters in Physical Therapy from Western University in London, Ontario, after finishing a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (with Honors) at the University of New Brunswick.

I am fluent in both English and Korean. I was born in Korea and grew up in New Zealand before moving to Canada, where I became a professional tennis player. I grew up loving sports and competed in basketball, volleyball, tennis, and golf at the varsity level. I was a certified tennis instructor and coached tennis in New Brunswick before getting into physiotherapy.

I have a wide range of experience treating everything from car accident injuries and sports/work-related conditions to concussions, neurological disorders (like strokes, spinal cord injuries, MS, and Parkinson’s), and chronic pain. My approach combines hands-on manual therapy, shockwave and electrotherapy, personalized exercise plans, and patient education. I’ve also taken additional training in Orthopaedic Manual Therapy Level 1, soft tissue release, and vestibular/concussion rehab.

Outside of work, I love exploring BC, whether it’s hiking, traveling or trying out new restaurants. Let’s talk about our favourite restaurants! I’m passionate about creating a welcoming, collaborative, hands-on, and patient-focused treatment experience.
